A new series from the foremost bushcraft personality starts tonight on BBC2 at 8pm

" The survival expert embarks on a journey through the Canadian wilderness. His adventure begins in the boreal forests at the heart of the country, which are home to a diverse population of animals and plants. On the way he learns about the people who once lived in the area, and uses his specialised skills to survive in this inhospitable environment"

At the Wilderness Gathering last month the team behind it revealed plans to stage a similar event in Spring 2010 at the Bentley Wildfowl Museum in Sussex (site of the weald woodfair), dubbed 'NatureFest', it will be marketed at bushcrafters but also a much wider collection of people from all sorts of backgrounds, bound by their common love of nature. Ornithologists, exotic collectors, woodworkers, bushcrafters, botanists, naturalists, mycologists - all coming together for what promises to be one mammoth event!
