Default Polish army tipi tent on steroids

Hi, I've got a polish army tent and i know a few on here do also.
I'm thinking of making mine a little bigger and wondered if anybody has done this to theirs? I was thinking of getting a 2' or 3' bit of the same or simalar canvas sewn to the bottom all the way around thus making it quite a bit bigger inside. any ideas?

Hi Addo, I should thankyou for giving me the idea for a woodburning stove in the polish tipi tent . They are great little tents but are a bit to small. Yeah i think i'm gonna give it a go i'll keep this tread updated with any progress.

Well i've found (bought) some canvas to make the polish tipi bigger now, i'm going to add about 30" (760mm) to the bottom and that should get me around 20" (510mm) of extra floor space all the way round plus the height will be around 1.9metres high instead of the normal 1.4metres height

I'd like to see that when you have done the mod Treetop, been thinking about doing that myself. You would need to think about a taller pole though, or get some of those Wilko props and do a tripod for it.

Hi Andy, Yeah i'll get some pics up as soon as i get going with this project but it may be a few days yet as i've got to finish the stove off first. I'm going to be traveling by bicycle and trailer

and think i'm going to use the trailer as a support hopefully.

Yeah here here. i think that will be plenty big enough for me and the kit. who needs to pay the tentipi prices to get good kit.

Well not something i've done since school so it's going to be a help from the mom with this i think

here's the fabric i got to use for this project note you will need about 12 metres if you make it to the same size as i'm going to http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10mts-36-COTTO...item2eac6b166b

That fabric is just the job, i reckon the colour is the same as the polish lavvu as well. I did think about using a synthetic cloth for the bottom as it would dry quicker and would be a tad lighter but i like the idea of keeping it the same as the original. I can't wait to see the end result tbh, reckon it will be a winner.
