While his methods may have been contoversial, there's no doubts that Steve Irwin was a superb ambassador for conservation, his passion getting people interested in conservation and responsible for actually getting things done.
My thoughts go to his friends and family. http://www.theage.com.au/news/Nation...222051588.html ________ Acura RDX specifications Last edited by Motorbike Man; 29-01-2011 at 02:42. |

Sad loss to the natural world - still at least he went out in a way I am sure he'd have preferred. Much better that that a heart attack in some stinking office stressing over a 9 - 5 job.
Now I just wish the press and the Politically correct muppet show would get off his case about how he did things

He was a great bloke who understood a lot more about nature than most, a brave man who worked hard for conservation in australia - I feel for his young kids.

I am saddened that Steve Irwin is no longer with us. the world needs more orginal characters like him. Although i think I would find his style a bit too much if we were trapped in a lift for a day.
I think his TV shows were first rate viewing and helped fund the vital conservation work he was involved with. Not every ecologist agreed with steve's methods but at least he got people to understand the beauty of reptiles. For that I am grateful. I hope his family continue with his legacy. |
