Howdy from the Oregon Territory (USA)
Howdy all, Great forum you have here and thank you for letting me join.
I live in the Pacific Northwest (USA) and have been actively pursuing my outdoor passions since boyhood (a good many decades ago). I recently purchased 20 acres in a remote location of our state that borders federal and state land. The wife and I enjoy the solitude and many recreational opportunities the area affords - fishing, hunting, mountain biking, quads, snowmachines... and the amazing natural beauty and wildlife (Whitetail and Mule Deer, Cougar, Wolf, Black bear, Moose, Coyote, Grouse, Bobcat...) that abound there. I first heard the term "Bushcraft" from the title of a book I purchased in the 1970's. It fit right into the collection of Bradford Angier books I amassed as a grub scout. At that time my big aspiration was to be a Mountain Man. It lasted until I discovered women... Luckily the one I married shared an appreciation for wild places and has been a great partner in a variety of outdoor endeavors. Thanks for sharring your experiences and I hope to contribute some of my own to this excellent forum. |
