Default Plant id books?

I have loads of plant and tree id books, been collecting them for years.
In your opinion's, what is/are the best plant id books available?

I cant say that i have one book that covers the whole subject, but find myself referencing several, if not more books for information.

I'd be ineterested to know what ones you lot use???

My fav is Collins new generation guide Wild flowers of Britain and Northern europe.
Francis Rose's wild flower key, is meant to be the best, but I am still trying to come to grips with it.

I use a number of books, but find myself going to the Readers Digest field guide to wild flowers of Britain or the Roger Philips field guides first. I can usually find what I'm after with these books.

I use that one but I daren't bring it outside in case it gets lost or damaged. I use blamey, fritter, fritter-wild flowers , little gem-trees and courtecuisse for mushrooms when out. Some people take photos and ID them at home rather than carry a book. I think that is wofully inadiquite way of learning plants and defininatly shouldn't be done in case of fungi. Esspiecally if you are learning for wild food perposes, I think taking samples, smelling and feeling and IDing thoroughly at home I feel is the only the way to go.
