Hello,
I've taken pics of the family woods before, but always from the outside. I decided to take a camera yesterday. ![]() These are the bare essentials for a hike in my opinion. The rifle may vary with the season (or I may just carry my 1911, which is always on me regardless.) If I'm going to stay out longer or know I'll wander farther, I'll throw in a comprehensive first aid kit. ![]() My Jesus sandles. I alternate these with my boots. Both have their strengths and drawbacks. I've never hand any luck using regular hiking boots or sneakers. The woods: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A bunch of deer trails. None of these are man made trails; I'm the only one who goes out there and I just use the trails which are already there. A deer shelter... lots of tracks: ![]() ![]() Random tracks: ![]() Deer track on the trail I was following. This one is about two or three days old. ![]() Fresh deer tracks, no more than a 12 hours old, and probably not that. ![]() Raccoon tracks, no more than 12 hours old. ![]() Deer track, several days old. ![]() Cicada shell. The following set intrigue me simply because I've not figured out what they're doing. If you hike a mile or so back, you emerge from the woods onto land that is not family land. It used to be a continuation of the woods interspersed with fields, but they really went to town with heavy movers. The machine visible in the picture has been just sitting there for a couple years now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have no idea who this land may belong to. Nobody's ever out there... it's kind of eerie. I hit this every night: ![]() Just a random picture as I returned to the house. I owned a punching bag at one time and prefer this. I hope you've enjoyed the pictures. Josh <>< |

You're a very lucky man is all I can say. Many many people, myself included would give their eye teeth to own a tract of land like your pictures show. Even just being able to wander, hunt, and camp on it would be fantastic. Yes very lucky indeed.
