So.. what torches do you use, anything special? I personally use a little, surprisingly bright one I've had for a few years, nothing special few quid from town. I have invested in some very bright and longlasting LED lights, one I usually keep round my neck and the other in my possibles pouch when I'm out and about. They're great for map reading etc at night. Maglites seem to have cornered the market but I've used these in the past and personally I don't like them all that much, they seem to run out to quickly.
Although, this looks pretty good http://www.botac.com/sug2zfl.html Scott |

I have 2 maglites, a double AA model which I have retired and a larger 3 cell unit which I use in the garden. My real-use torches are Inovas. I have the Inova Personal Light on my jacket zip and another on my key-ring. I have an X1 in my fat-boy and I've ordered the X5. The X1 runs off 1 AA and blows the maglites away. The LED is so bright and focused. I've got nearly 11 hours use off one rechargeable so it's not bad.

I carry a 3D Silver maglite strapped to the outside of my pack simply because of it's ability to be used as a self defense weapon in a pinch. I have a few Inovas that rotate in my bag, but my newest is the UK 4AA Led.
My overall favorite flashlight? My surefire Aviator. |

For EDC I have a 2 AAA minimag on my key chain. (Replaced the more useless Kubaton). and a Photon LED light.
For camping I generaly use a 2 AA minimag on a head band but I may get a LED head lamp. In my BOB I have retired the minimag for a Inova light. |
