Default anyone hear that BANG!

Could it have been the sound of the Bushcraft bubble bursting?

I've noticed that a lot of the forums are quite these days, is it because there's not enough newbies coming through?
and all us know it all old timers have already said it all and have nothing else to say?
I for one am still very much into my hobby and get out there loads in fact this weekend will be my 6th on the trot. I know most of my closest buddy's are still enthused, but I must admit my enthusiasm for posting has dwindled even though I check out the forums each day.
So peeps whats your views on the subject?

Scotty is an unknown quantity at this point

It definitely peaked about 3 years ago and has been steadily dwindling since then - now that Ray's been off the box for a few years there's less and less casual enthusiasts passing through, which means the forum's aren't brimming with the same old questions. I visit here everyday but I struggle these days to find something worthwhile to say other than taking the piss that is

I prefer it like this, the stuff that is posted is good quality and not people asking silly questions all the time.

Well if you calculate the weight by distance traveled divided by the wind speed and make an allowance for the variation in air pressure, I would say.....um....No.........sorry?!

It depends on whether you are talking about an African or European swallow.

The airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles per hour*, beating its wings 7-9 times per second (rather than 43). But please note that a 5 ounce bird cannot carry a one pound coconut.

*Based upon published species-wide averages of wing length and body mass, initial Strouhal estimates based on those averages and cross-species comparisons, the Lund wind tunnel study of birds flying at a range of speeds, and revised Strouhal numbers based on that study gives an estimate that the average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles per hour.
