Default Looking for somewhere to go in Northern Ireland

I've been looking for somewhere to go camping in Northern Ireland for the last week but all my searches come up with camp/caravan sites. I would normally go into the Mournes but my partner wants to go somewhere different however I'm not familiar with what areas are good to go to.
We will be heading out with a bivvy and hammock so a good sized wooded area would be nice, preferably with the option of a campfire. Any ideas would be more than welcome.

Glennariffe Forest Park Co Antrim- waterfalls and woods, not sure of the regulations but the best scenery in Antrim- my mother lives nearby. Glen Rd goes from the Forest Park down to Red Bay (the sea). Stunning views. Then take the coast road past Cushendall to the Giants Causeway etc- beautiful beaches....

Bumping this somewhat.

Me and a mate want to do around a month or so in the 'bush' , whilst convienent spots for such activities are limited in the UK ( I think ) to allow one to hunt , trap and fish in a natural environment I wonder if there may be any suitable venues in Ireland ( North or South )

In an ideal situation we would be looking for a large wooded location off the beaten track that would allow Trap lines and Active hunting to take place also fresh water/lake would allow fishing..

Also within trekking distance of the Coast ( again desolate would be good ) to take advantage of the natural resource.

Can any Irish boys point me in the right direction to Google?

Hi mate,

There are lots of places to go camping. Lots of good spots in Antrim Hills and Sperrins too. Campfires are a big no no if you dont have permission. But saying that if your responsible and leave no trace who is to know. These fire laws are generated because most people are ****s and leave a huge fire scar full of beer cans. I am sure as your on a bushcraft site you are not one of them.

I would suggest going to http://www.ni-wild.co.uk . A good N.I based website with lots of experienced people and campers.

Good luck
