I'm blessed with a wonderful bike ride to and from work. Last evening, I was just thinking of all the amazing wildlife I get to see on my ride when I heard a rustle in the hedge. Nothing unusual in that, I thought, probably a blackbird or something. But that little voice inside my head told me to stop and take a look. It was such a lovely sunny evening and I had a bit of time so I did.
I'm so glad and also that unusually I had my camera with me. I got to watch a weasle popping in and out of his home. (Look for the little white blob.) ![]() ![]() I was able to stand about a metre away from the entrance. He just would pop up and take a look and disappear back down again, and then up again....you can just make out his little beady eyes and nose in the dark. ![]() Have to admit, I couldn't do a positive ID until I got home and consulted a book! Stoats are quite a bit bigger and have a dark tip to the tails. Thanks for looking - sorry about the small pictures, still struggling a bit. ![]() ![]()
