Just don't touch the fabric sides. Should be pretty water resistant. as long as you keep the guy ropes tight and no standing water collecting in the roof, you should be okay.

When we used an open fire under it the smoke tar gave a pretty good waterproof coating.

Since using the wood/coal burner it will have got less but still not bad.

Now using a poly tarp as a flysheet, I'll take photo's in a couple of weeks when I set it up again.

£30 for a chute and £15 for a poly tarp give a good shelter which I think could sleep 8 easily.

I think You could call it a tint or something like it and sell it to folks to go camping in.
