Well it made me realise that the food I was reared on was as if we were still on rations. I recognised a lot of those dishes from my youth and I was born in the 60's

I totally agree with you.

The sad thing is though, although there was terrible atrocities with all the bombing raids and our boys fighting for us all. Look at how close everyone was......Not like today, people couldn't get any more distant if they tried there's no community spirit at all any more.

When we had that bad snow people were clearing there only little space outside there house not going that little bit further to join up to there neighbours.
I was one of only two people in my village that went round the old people to see if they were OK or needed any shopping.

Sorry rant over, completely off topic...........doh!
