When I was in the local Indian supermarket " Sandars" for you Dudley chaps ( Local store for local people ).
Thay had some alloy cast Dutch ovens from Jamaca :rolleyes: has anyone came across them before ?
would thay take the heat of the fire ? or are thay for oven useage ?

Yarp. I got one from my local asian superstore about 3 weeks ago.

Jamaica Sun Dutch Pot , if I remember correctly. I'm hoping to try it out in the field. So far though, its been heavily tested in my kitchen and its great! Made Chilli in it last night.

It looks ideal for a camp oven and given its light weight should be easily portable.

havnt been to sandars for ages! i used to love buying a huuuuge salami for a quid and munching it in the woods :D

you think youll get some mate? how much are they?

I know the big one we got, used to cook the deer in at the meet is good. It really holds the heat in it and you can cook masses :)

Yeah, your right, its cast iron. Just saying that im well pleased with how it works :)
