named after the famous Walter Tyrell who killed the king of England whilst shooting deer with his bow!
Its prettymuch a cottage pie made with minced venison.
1lb fresh minced venison.
1 pigs kidney chopped.
1 onion
2 carrots.
1 turnip
1 stalk of cellery.
1/2 can of chopped tomato's
2 tablespoons of cornflour
3 oxo cubes
small sprig of sage finely chopped
1/2 pint of winter ale
topping:
2lb spuds.
2 tablespoons of butter.
1/2 teaspoon of mustard powder
2 egg yolks
chop yer onion,and ad to the mince and fry stirring occasionally,add the kidney and stir together till cooked,now add the sage ,dixed carrot,cellery and turnip stir then add the ale , tomoto's and oxo cubes,stir again till it begins to boil,reduce the heat and put a lid on.by the time the spuds are boiled the meat and veg should be cooked through,then add the cornflour to thicken,set to one side.
Boil yer spuds and mash them with the butter,once mashed smooth add the mustard powder and the egg yolks,stirr imediatly so the yolks mix in well.
Now get a nice oven dish,put the meat mix in it then top with the spud,pipe or fork it on,remember to start adding the spud from the sides inwards so you dont end up with a mush!
Place in a preheated oven at 220C for 20 minutes,serve with some baked beans and garlic bread!
