Also, if you ever noticed(my wife has), those of us who wear boonies, are wired into the world/universe quite differently from everyone else!

I used to wear one, some 30 yrs ago. Then I grew up! Kidding.
I wore one in combat. I went to a baseball cap as soon as I could. I have a Military Triangle bandage I soak in water and wear under the baseball cap for shade and to keep me cool.
In winter, I have a blue jeep cap I wear. A jeep cap is a stocking cap with a bill. If it is too cold for the Jeep cap, I have an insulated stocking caps and one with a face cover.
The Boonie hats are OK. They just never impressed me outside of the jungle or desert use. As a fashion statement, they just yell wanta be or wish I were!

It took me ages to find a plain OD boonie and when i did i loved it. Right up to the point where a light breeze blew the rim back into my face! If there's no wind, excellent. In the wood's, brilliant! As soon as there is a breeze i take it off as i like to see where i'm going. And before you ask, no i am NOT going to starch it a la Gunny Highway!
